EPA Student Center 

This website provides K-12 students and educators with access to quality homework resources, lesson plans and project ideas for learning and teaching about the environment.  Environmental education is a multi-disciplinary approach to learning about environmental issues that enhances knowledge, builds critical thinking skills, and helps students make informed and responsible decisions.  Also check out EPA’s Games, Quizzes, and Videos About  the Environment.

Extreme Science – Earth Science 

Information on world records in earth science and geological formations and about key science concepts in the earth sciences, such as plate tectonics and seismology, and much more.

Kids Do Ecology 

At the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS), scientists conduct research on major problems in ecology. NCEAS promotes education and outreach as part of its mission to increase the public understanding of science. The Kids Do Ecology is one of its outreach programs for students.

NASA Climate Kids 

NASA Climate Kids helps parents answer their kid’s questions such as “How do clouds affect Earth’s climate?” and “What is climate change?”  The website also has fun games and videos focused on the environment, and much more.

NASA Space Place – Earth 

NASA’s award winning website endeavors to inspire and enrich upper-elementary-aged kids’ learning of space and Earth science online through fun games, hands-on activities, informative articles and engaging short videos. With material in both English and Spanish and resources for parents and teachers, NASA Space Place has something for everyone.

Recycle City

Create your own Recycle City scavenger hunt or go to the Activities area and see other ways you can explore Recycle City. A great way for kids to learn the basics of recycling. (EPA Kids website.)

Learn about the planet Earth’s geology, meteorology, paleontology, and oceanography.  Learn many new things about you own planet that you didn’t know before.

Surfrider Foundation  

Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.  They have a beach clean-up program,  outreach program, and student clubs as well, among other programs.

Website by a meteorologist, which explains everything about the weather. Find fun facts, games, flashcards and photos, plus get answers to your questions about weather related science.
